Dental Implant Treatment Turkey
Dental Implant Surgery in Turkey
The implant is used in cases from lack of one tooth to the lack of all teeth.
If the person does not have teeth from the front to the back, removable dentures must be used, or dental implant treatment is required.
Removable dentures significantly reduce the quality of life of people. The inventor of dental implants has a very important saying “No one will put their dentures in the glass when they are sleeping at night” and this is a very important issue. Not only elderly individuals do lose their teeth, but nowadays 25-30-year-old individuals can also lose their teeth. This dramatically affects the psychological mood of these individuals. In addition to the mood, the person’s inability to communicate with people or to eat something can cause big problems. Thanks to dental implants, we can avoid such problems.
A dental Implant is an artificial tooth root placed on your jawbone to fill the tooth you lost. The dental implant is supported with dentures together without damaging the existing teeth of the patient who lost their tooth or teeth.
There are 3 important issues that patients should be aware of.
The first one is the dentist's preference. The dentist to perform the dental implant treatment must be knowledgeable, and skilled and should have performed many cases before, so when you decide to have a dental implant, you should research it very carefully and find the right dentist.
The second issue is the dental implant brand used by the dentist. There are hundreds of dental implant systems in our country and the world. Some people abroad produce implants in garages and repair shops. The implant is a material of titanium essence. Titanium is a convenient material found in nature. People process it according to their conditions and market them under the name of the dental implant. However, the surface of the implant is very important, and what titanium is covered. Nowadays, some special materials are covered with very special methods and the recovery time is very short, as well as the time of acceptance by the body can be very fast. The long-term success of these implants is very high. It is, therefore, necessary to use a proven, certified and globally recognized product.
The third issue is the planning phase when you want to have an implant. If the planning issue is not taken into consideration, big problems might arise. The person would enter an irreversible path in his/her treatment.
It is imperative that very detailed planning is made for dental implant treatments.
People, who have dental implants, should pay attention to oral hygiene.
Regular oral care is sufficient, but the use of dental floss and mouthwash is also useful for the lifetime of the implant. If you want to have long-lasting implants, you should pay attention to regular care.
Is there a guarantee for dental implants?
Many implant manufacturers provide at least 5 years and some a lifetime guarantee for their products against damage such as breaking.
If you are considering dental implant treatment, you should have healthy gum and dental bone to support the implant. If your dental bone is inadequate, thin and soft to support the implant, bone graft supplements may be required or ball attachment dentures may be recommended. Therefore, it is useful to see your dental X-ray for dental implant treatment planning.
If you need 4 dental implants on one jaw and you have enough dental bone, you can complete the entire process in a short period of one week or ten days. You should only pay attention to your habit of eating for about 1 to 1.5 months as recommended by your dentist.
If more than 4 dental implants on one jaw are required, you will have to come back a few months after the first dental implant treatment, after the implants have been blended with your gums, for the placement of your dental crowns. This process is usually 3 months, and under this process, the implant is hidden under the gum of your teeth. In this procedure, you should stay for at least 4 days on your first visit for implant placement and a week on your second visit three months later for placement of your crowns.
Complete oral dental implant treatment is performed with 6 implants and 12 crowns on the upper jaw, with 6 implants and 12 crowns on the lower jaw (12 implants and 24 crowns in total).
Pre-op Consultation, Oral Exam and Treatment
Your first visit with your dentist will be the morning after your arrival. We usually organize the examination at 10 am and start treatment at 1 pm. We provide enough time for you to answer all your questions during and after the examination. All of our dental treatments are applied by our well-known experienced dentists, who are patient-oriented and who can speak English. The entire treatment process will be explained by your dentist during your examination and all your questions will be answered.
After the first consultation, detailed oral exam and dental imaging, your treatment can be started on the same day.
The first stage of dental implant treatment;
You should have a very good breakfast in the morning of your treatment because you cannot eat and drink for a while after dental implant treatment. Dental Implant treatment lasts in 2-3 hours. There may be small swellings, bleeding or pain for 2-3 days after the surgery, so your doctor will recommend you take antibiotics and pain medication.
Local anaesthesia will be used in your surgery. To place the implant, your dentist will make a small incision into the gums to expose the bone, then open up a section in the size of the implant to place it in the bone. During the treatment, your dentist checks whether the implant is placed correctly by taking an X-ray image and closes the incision by placing a dissolvable stitch on the gum to prevent the implant from appearing and let the implant bond with the dental bone. After the surgery, you may need to consume soft and liquid foods for at least 4-5 weeks for healthy healing of the treatment area.
On the 3rd day after your treatment, you need to come for a follow-up check. The stitches usually dissolve in 7-10 days. Stitches' dissolving is usually easy, fast and painless.
The second stage of dental implant treatment (min after 3 months):
After your dental implants are bonded into the bone (approximately 3 months), your treatment can be continued and completed for the placement of the crowns as the second part of the treatment. Under local anaesthesia, your dentist makes a small incision into the gums to reveal the implant previously placed. After removing the protective, temporary implant cap, it is replaced by the metal cap called an abutment. After placement of the abutment, your gum should be healed in a short time before your crowns are placed.
Your dentist prepares your crowns in the laboratory to fit your mouth sizes to be placed on your implants. It takes a few days for your original crowns to be prepared, temporary crowns are placed so that you can use your teeth in this period. When you come to our clinic for placement of your original crowns, after deciding with your dentist that you are 100% satisfied with the new appearance, your dentist will strengthen and make your crowns permanent with special dental cement or adhesive.
To use your implants and crowns more healthy and permanently, you should care for your oral hygiene regularly.
Advanced technology and medical equipment in our clinic are used by board-certified doctors. Patient care and a patient-oriented approach are provided at a higher quality than that offered by world standards and in Europe.
