Teeth Whitening in Turkey

Dental Whitening in Turkey

There are different methods for whitening the teeth. The first is professional bleaching (laser bleaching) with the help of a dentist and the other is a home bleaching system that is applied according to the advice of your doctor at home.

The first of these is office-type bleaching, which is a method of whitening, offered by the dentist.

Office-type teeth whitening is an application that is performed with a special solution applied to the teeth while protecting the gums. The bleaching drug is placed on the teeth by an expert dentist.

This laser can be a special source of radiation, or it can be a source of high-source radiation depending on the dentist's preference. This source of light is the process of whitening the teeth.

This application takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Some people may need to have more than one session. At the end of the office tooth whitening, the person's teeth will become a few tons whiter. Teeth whitening is a method of removing stains present in the tooth with special solutions and special techniques. So teeth whitening and teeth cleaning are completely different issues.

Teeth cleaning removes stains on the tooth. Teeth whitening is the process of removing the yellowing materials inside the teeth being yellow for years or genetically yellow.

For whitening, we should not use foreign substances (such as carbonate, etc.) or unknown methods. Because tooth enamel is a very special texture, despite being very hard tissue it can be abraded. The layer covering the surface of the enamel teeth has a weaker dentin layer beneath it. When you reach the dentin layer, sensitivities and related problems start. Therefore, we need to protect the enamel well, we mustn't use any technique other than the tooth whitening methods recommended by our dentist.

Can porcelain veneers, crowns and dental bridge prostheses be whitened by permanent whitening?

All permanent bleaching methods work on natural tooth structure. This means that porcelain veneers, crowns and bridges or fillings do not turn white. All of this may need to change to match the colour of your new whitened tooth.

How long is the whiteness by teeth whitening maintained?

The whiteness of your teeth, which is provided by bleaching, laser whitening is long-lasting, but the duration depends on you. Your habits such as excessive smoking, consuming colourful foods like excessive tea-coffee-cola, and so on affect this period.

To keep your teeth as white as possible, you should keep good and sufficient oral care.

Considerations after teeth whitening/bleaching

  • After dental whitening, usually, every patient experiences more or less sensitivity (or never does, very rarely). These sensitivities are temporary and disappear within 1–3 days.
  • Still, excessive cold or heat should be avoided for the first few days. After bleaching, each patient has to follow a diet list. Any colouring of food or drink is prohibited. The teeth are very sensitive for the first 3 days, but ideally, it is necessary to take care of them for 7 to 10 days.
  • Smoking, dark-coloured foods like tea, coffee, chocolate, red wine, sour cherry, caramel, and tomato paste are not allowed for a week after the end of the process. Otherwise, the achieved whiteness will disappear.
  • The use of whitening toothpaste after the bleaching process will also extend the whitening effect. The point that should be considered here is that no abrasive toothpaste or tooth powders should be used. Abrasive products cause colouration and sensitivity after a certain period.
  • The effect of bleaching on a patient who brushes teeth at least 2 times a day, performs regular checks for 6 months, and does not consume tobacco, smoke or excessive tea is preserved for a long time.
  • It can be supplemented with home bleaching to be applied every 2-3 years. In patients who do not comply with these rules, there may be a colouration again and re-bleaching can be done.
